The Woodcutter and Hermes 🌲🔨
This is part of our Aesop’s Fables series, where we build upon Aesop’s Fables, teaching kids what they mean and what wisdom we can learn from them! 🌈📚 Today’s story features Max the woodcutter and a special encounter with Hermes, the God of luck! 🍀✨
A Clumsy Day for Max! 🙈💦
Once upon a time, Max the woodcutter found a sturdy old tree. “This one,” he said, “looks good to me!” 🌳🔍 But as he lifted his axe and swung it around, he tripped and stumbled, falling to the ground! 😱
Oh no! His axe flew through the sky and landed with a splash in a muddy fish pond! 💧🐟 Max watched in despair as his tool sank away. He fell to his knees and started to weep. 😢
A Helpful God! ✨👼
Just then, a mysterious person appeared. “Hold on,” he said with a smile, “you have nothing to fear! My name is Hermes, the God of all luck. 🍀 I’ll go and get your axe out of the muck!”
With that, Hermes jumped into the water and swam out of sight. 🌊🏊♂️ Soon he returned, but instead of Max’s axe, he held a golden one! “That is not mine,” said the old woodcutter, shaking his head. ❌
Back into the pond went Hermes, only to come back with a shiny silver axe. “No, that’s not good! Mine’s made of wood!” Max exclaimed. 🪵🪓
Honesty Pays Off! 💰😊
Finally, Hermes returned with the old wooden axe. Max laughed and thanked him for his help. “How can I thank you for what you have done?” he asked gratefully. 🙏
Hermes smiled and said, “Max, you are honest and true. As a reward, I have something for you!” He handed Max a bag full of riches and treasure! 💰✨
So, what have we learned from this story? Honesty is always the best policy! 🌟😊
The Greedy Woodcutters! 🪓😬
Hearing about Max’s good fortune, the other woodcutters, filled with greed, rushed to the fishpond, hoping for glory. 🏆 But when they threw their axes into the pond, Hermes was nowhere to be found! 😟
It seems that good luck comes to those who are in need, but never to those who are crafty and greedy! 🌈✨
What We Learned! 🌟📖
The moral of the story teaches us that being honest and true brings rewards. 🌟 It’s always better to tell the truth than to be greedy! 💖
